Edward Geroge married Teresa McKINLEY in Clayton, NY. Carl's grand father: George Henry DeMOTT (no cap on the Mott part)was born at Morristown, NY on 29 Apr 1845. George Henry DeMOTT was in the Civil War, he enlisted on 31 Aug 1864 at age 18 in Morristown, NY. he served in the 6th NY. ind. Battery under Henry Hooker in the Artillery. His widow Annette Maude DeMOTT (maiden name REFF) received a widow's pension after his death. George Henry died 12 Feb 1921 at Watertown, NY.

These marriages took place in Christs Presbyterian Church in Hempstead. The Church itself is still there but records are "history" due to fire, or some other unknown.

(46) Seeking information on the father of Benjamin DeMott who was born 1778 in
Oswego county, NY. My records show that Benjamin married Alma or Anna on
Sept. 1798 at Oswego and they were both buried Lot 8, Sec 13 at Hannibal
with his death listed as the 4th Sept 1844 and hers as Mar. 4th, 1866.
Family letter indicates that Benjamin was the eldest of eight children and
the fathers name may have been James and his wife's name Catherine Westlake.
